If I were Filthy Rich
By Ser_Grumpybeard
+53 I'd buy a home in Maine and fix it up with all the modern bells and whistles.

If I won the lottery I'd love to move to Maine! I would find a nice home, somewhere within 20 or 30 minutes of a respectable sized town, but not so far away as to be stranded in the winter.

I'd spend a portion updating everything to today's standards, and install solar and other self sufficient-ish things in case things get bad. I'd trade in my car that keeps making more and more strange noises for something simple but electric. For the yard I'd want something respectable. Hopefully somewhere with a stream or pond, and build a fence to keep my dogs safe and give them plenty of room to run.

I'd spend more time with my pets, and give them the life they deserve. I would probably find a simple part time job to keep a schedule, and donate my paycheck to a local shelter or something.

I would like to pay off my sister and some friends debts. I'd also like to fund her so she could chase her dreams. I would pay back the money my family has lent me to keep me on my feet, and make sure they are comfortable and want for nothing in their aging years, as well as visit for every major holiday and some surprise visits in between.

Depending on the size of the jackpot, I would do my best to pay it forward. A lot of people where I work now are unhappy, and I would love to bring some goodness back into their lives. Find a way to anonymously pay them to find a job that's less soul sucking and more family friendly.

I think I mainly just want stability and knowing my family and I are safe and secure in our futures.

I'd also buy a trampoline because why the heck not.

+12 @RoannDunn Perfect ❤️. It's the simplicity in all of this for me OP. I can sense your desire to do good and just be happy.

+11 @Enterprise-NCC1701-D Maine is one of the top states I would consider moving to as it is very beautiful, but honestly if I won one of the super big jackpots I would love to move to some remote/obscure part of the world like the southern part of NZ or the very north of Norway and build a modest but modern house.
