If I were Filthy Rich

+30 What would you get if you win, but not if you win big?

if I win enough to have a bit of luxury, but still have to work, then I'd want a good pool and home gym setup, so I can squeeze in a bit of a workout when I can.

If I win enough to live in luxury without working, I wouldn't want those things in my house. I live a short walk from a nice gym and pool, and a short drive from a luxury spa. Any home I would want to buy would have similar nearby amenities.

+10 @Chromattix Invest what I can since I still wanna retire as early as possible. Depends on the amount though, compared to $100 million jackpot either winning $1 million or $100k "isn't much" but what you can do with either of those varies greatly still. Assuming I won just $100k nothing about my lifestyle would change. Though I might have more incentive to go study something that'll get me out of my current job (which I don't enjoy) sooner since I won't have to worry about money for a couple of years. No car upgrades or holidays, I don't need either badly enough to squander this opportunity. Will invest some and buy me that Langlitz leather gear I want (which I plan on doing this year anyway) and some cosmetic changes to make my house look a bit nicer, but otherwise most of it is being saved/invested and used to supplement my paycheck if I had to reduce hours or quit while I go looking for a *real* career. If I won $1 million I'd do the same as above plus try getting an investment property somewhere that won't take forever to increase in value. But this still isn't enough for me to get a place where I'd *really* want to live so I'm still not moving. Put some in slightly riskier investments and maybe treat myself to a nicer (but still reasonably-priced/used) car. If I won a few million (say $2-5 million which are common where I live) I might have a chance getting a place where I'd rather be now but that take a pretty big chunk out of it and I'd still have to compromise on some things (what can I say - the parts of Sydney that don't suck are unbelievably expensive) so a move may or may not be in the charts. But I'm absolutely quitting my job, upgrading my car, renovating my current house (so if I *have* to stay I at least got one of the nicer homes on the street, plus it'll add a lot of value to my property) treating myself to a few frivolous purchases (convertible, a nice watch, some designer clothes, upgrade all my tech and paid software) but otherwise still saving/investing most of it so I can set myself up for an early retirement or at least be able to work doing something I enjoy or makes me feel good so I won't loathe having to work so much. Focus on self improvement (including working out) and who knows - a better lifestyle might find me as a result.
