If I were Filthy Rich

+89 What business would you love to start if money and practicality weren't an issue?

I'm not talking about realistic investments or businesses that are guaranteed to make money. I mean the kind of business you've always wanted to run, even if it would cost a fortune to set up, probably wouldn't make enough profit to live on, or is just too much of a hassle to actually pursue.

For example, I've always wanted to design my own escape room, but not one of those rooms where you just solve puzzles involving combination locks. I'd love to build one with high-end technology, elaborate mechanics, hidden compartments, and all sorts of clever interactive elements. You can crawl through ventilation shafts and I was thinking of something like in Harry Potter, where you dial something into a telephone booth and the telephone booth is actually an elevator that will then bring you to another floor. Maybe a reception that looks like the tailor shop in Kingsman.

I'd also love to open an axe-throwing business. I've seen them in other cities, but there's nothing like that in mine. Honestly, that one might even be financially viable, but as long as I depend on my salary to pay the bills and know absolutely nothing about taxes or business regulations, it's probably going to remain a dream.

So, what's your dream business? Something weird, niche, unnecessarily elaborate, or completely impractical that you'd love to create if you didn't have to worry about making a living from it?

+46 @Vikingaling Onshoring recycling. Hiring disadvantaged people at living wages to run my plant. Putting extra effort into sorting to avoid waste. Operating probably at a huge loss tbh but keeping so much out of landfills and third world junk piles.

+36 @emccm A bookstore/coffee bar with an elderly cat retirement home out back.

+27 @Lowlife-Dog Since it is Halloween season I want to do a "Happy House" instead of a haunted house. No gore, no blood, not scary. For kids that can't handle a haunted house. Maybe a petting zoo, happy clowns, cotton candy.

+26 @KrAff2010 I’d love to start a zoo. Not like a roadside attraction petting zoo, but an AZA accredited zoo with hundreds of acres and dozens of species. Have a huge aquarium building in the center of it too. Focus on housing animals too injured to live in the wild, rescued wild animals kept as pets or meant for food, and breeding pairs to boost populations of endangered animals.

+25 @BonCourageAmis I always wanted a bookstore/café that would be a community meeting place.,

+23 @Jeremichi22 I’d make a whole at cost community center. All profits go to the workers. Try and keep enough buildings on the giant complex grounds to keep families from having to travel from place to place with more than one kid in any activities.

+13 @salamisawami I would love to own a candy store in my small town. Bring back Brach’s pick a mix lol

+11 @OoklaTheMok1994 I might start my own handyman/electrician business. I sit at a desk in front of a computer all day. I like working with my hands, but can't do it well enough to replace my salary. So, if I were independently wealthy I could just take on whatever handyman jobs I wanted. Maybe a niche to this business would be that I would offer the folks to help me so they can learn how to do these small jobs themselves.

+11 @4NotMy2Real0Account A gym for people who fight in full plate armor with blunted weapons.
