If I were Filthy Rich
By wegotthisonekidmongo+193 Would you stay Anonymous if you won?
I would tell nobody. I would tell my wife and that's about it. we've been together since 1998 and she's loved me through thick and thin and through multiple illnesses. I would get up and move and just live as quiet silent happy life. I would literally tell not one f****** soul other than my wife. Trusts are allowed in my state and that I would def do.

+96 @5Series_BMW Yes, there’s no benefit to telling anyone. Once you tell people, they’ll come to you non-stop for money issues. I’d just make up a story that I got an inheritance and leave it at that.
+32 @BoomyNote Even with family members it’s better to create a fake story or some sort of front like a business to explain how you came into money. Or even say you made a crypto gamble lol. But anything besides saying you won the lottery, even if people know you have money, you should NOT tell them you won the lottery ever, even for smaller amounts like 100k, too many people will feel entitled to your money when it comes to the lottery. Even saying you won at the casino is better than saying you won the lottery, idk what the psychological explanation for it is but it’s just a terrible idea to tell the average person that you won the lottery, it attracts something weird in people
+29 @Roonil-B_Wazlib I only play when the jackpot is pretty large. There would be no way for me to both fully enjoy that wealth while also hiding it from people that know me.
+24 @Letters_to_Dionysus I wouldn't tell many people... but there'd be signs
+22 @bugabooandtwo Absolutely. Telling people you have money just makes you a target...and you become the bad guy when you won't solve everyone elses problems by handing out piles of cash for everyone who asks (even if you do hand out a ton of cash, the moment you stop they'll still hate you).
+21 @zishazhe I'm not married so i would stay anonymous. I would let my close best friend and sister know after one year of winning. I do not want to tell anyone right after winning I want to be used to having a large sum of money before letting people into my wealth.
+19 @squintobean I’d like to think I’d keep my mouth shut and I know every one advises to do so and to basically hoard their wealth but historically, even when I’ve earned my wealth through actual hard work (and luck), I shared my successes with family, friends, community, and charity. I just can’t imagine winning like $300 million and just selfishly hoarding it. I’d buy a few nice things, invest wisely, travel nonstop, set up some close friends really well, donate a ton, help people with philanthropy and charitable efforts. Whenever I buy a big money ticket, I spend half the time fantasizing on stoking people out, not so much some crazy car collection of Bugattis, etc. For better or worse, it’s just my nature. I’ve accepted it.
+12 @Sure_Acanthaceae_348 Yes. No benefit in going public. I’d hide behind trusts and other legal arrangements.
