I hear stories of people winning the lottery, but then I hear about either dumb people blowing their money on expensive assets only for then to be stolen by thieves, burn money on substance abuse, or domestic violence like a brother who was arrested for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill his brother to inherit the lottery winnings…
If I won the lottery I’d do whatever I can to prevent the consequences.

+27 @Orcus424 The best way to stop most of that from happening is to tell no one and be responsible with your money. If you can't be responsible then create a trust where you get only so much money per month. I was friends with a guy where his parents were rich but died. He gets a monthly allowance and has never worked. I believe his parents thought he could never be trusted with the total sum because he said he can never access the whole amount. My plan is to leave where I live and start over. Florida releases the info after 90 days so I can't stay where I am and expect to not be harassed constantly.
