If I were Filthy Rich

+54 Would anyone give their friends money if they won?

I have a good friend in Mexico who suffers from similar financial strains from me. And I’m confident no one here would ask me for money if I have some of my winnings to her.

+41 @Lebanese-Trojan I would set aside money, like a few million, depending on the size of the winnings to give to people close to you. This is just me, but if I ever get lucky enough to win one of the bigger ones, like 500M+, I would be giving up a 50M+ without even thinking it. I want my money to make me happy, not isolate me from others.

+21 @bahamapapa817 Being in my 40s means at this point I know who my real friends are. The ones that have been down from when I was broke. So there is a couple I would give money to

+18 @skw4ll Anonymously I think, you have to be sure of your friends.

+11 @GoodOlChap Iron clad nda of I’m giving it to them. Or have my lawyer hire another and give it to them via trust etc.

+11 @Wet_Artichoke Yes. I plan on giving them the max allowed to avoid taxes. Last time I looked it was $17k per person. My husband and I could give them each $17k. So we could give our married couple friends $68k. Beyond that, I’d like to set up trust for them.

+11 @Ruthless4u Only 1 I would consider, he bailed me out of a really bad spot I was in about 25 years ago and saved my ass. I owe him, if I won enough I would pay off all his debts at least.
