If I were Filthy Rich
By Large-Lack-2933+34 What's the best strategy to winning big on a lottery ticket?
Is it best to buy like 20 or 50 quickpick games or is it better to pick my own numbers. Or just join a syndicate (group pool with other people) and share the winnings.

+103 @Obvious_Put_4902 The whole point of this game is that nobody wins. You’re over thinking. There is no best strategy, and there is no way in hell I’m splitting anything with a group, especially a random group. By “nobody” I mean 0.00000001% of people will ever come out on top, it’s worth the 2$ a week on a chance that is you, but it’s not worth even $20 a week. Source: I spend about 20 a week bc I can afford it, but am not ignorant to the odds.
+31 @FacelessPotatoPie Best bet is to develop a Time Machine, Google winning number for the lotto and go back in time to buy tickets.
+24 @Restil The only strategy to max out your chances of of being the only winner are to ensure you have some numbers above 31. Lots of people like to pick birthdays as their "lucky" numbers so there's going to be a higher distribution of lower numbers than higher ones. That means, if all of your numbers are lower, there's a greater chance you'll have to split the jackpot with someone else.
+20 @Covid_45 From personal experience: I’ve hit 4/5 + mega on a quick pick Hit 4/5 no mega from my chosen numbers. I agree with the idea of picking numbers higher than 31 for less chance of sharing a top prize. But face it, the odds are in no one’s favor. But theoretically, the more you buy the more chances you have to win.
+17 @Willhouse4078 Pure luck. I won 10 grand on a random 4 dollar easy pick. I have done lottery groups at work where everyone puts in 20 bucks, and we buy close to 100 plus easy picks and win nothing. I have done my own numbers and won nothing or two bucks. I even tried looking back at past drawings and seeing what numbers came up most often and tried that and got nowhere. It's just pure luck. Now I won't spend more than 6 dollars on a lottery ticket.
