If I were Filthy Rich

+42 What are you telling people if you decide to go for anonymity?

I'm curious to see what people plan to tell those who inevitably ask how you came into money and don't work, if you decide to claim your win anonymously and want to hide the fact you won the lottery. Have you got a made up story you're going to stick to? What if people pry and try and pick holes in your story? Are you happy to lie? I really want to remain anonymous when I win, but I just can't see it working out long term if I have to always retell the same story.

Edit: you guys have convinced me I'm overthinking it. I'll tell people whatever I want, and if I don't fancy lying that day, I'll tell them that we're extremely private people and never talk money or what we do for a living with other people.

+48 @gvillager Stealth wealth. Just because you have $100 million or so doesn't mean you have to live like you do. Lots of people don't work. Don't talk about your finances and let them assume you are in debt up to your eyeballs. It's the American way!

+46 @WaccoRaccon I'll tell people i work for a global player, 100 % remote and part of my work is to travel. The New Car is owned by company and with a higher salary i can afford better living.

+38 @Altruistic-Pack6059 I'm not telling them anything because I won't be home.

+17 @bahamapapa817 I have several different stories on deck. I found an old hard drive with bitcoin. I won a settlement at work and signed an NDA I was part of a team that invented something everyone uses but we sold it high and one of the stipulations is they get to say they invented it so again NDA.

+13 @DirtyPenPalDoug I wfh, they don't need to know shit about shit.

+12 @Lanky_Possession_244 Nothing at all. I don't talk money in my life as it is and unless they are next to me constantly, how would they know I'm not working?
