If I were Filthy Rich
By Enterprise-NCC1701-D+35 How much would you need to build the house of your dreams?
So if I won the lottery, I would love to build a house like the video below but more modern. How much do you think you would need to win, to be able to hire an architect and build a house like that? I feel like I wouldnt need much else to be happy.

+12 @Chromattix My dream house changes from time to time but the most expensive incarnation of it would probably be $10 million, maybe more or less depending on location. Some of the more consistent features I'd want are: \- A lot of garden space, including both actual ground areas for some of my favourite tree and other larger plant species that really can't be done justice being kept in pots their whole lives - and a rooftop garden too for stuff that doesn't need heaps of soil volume to thrive in. This rooftop garden could also double as an entertaining or hangout spot with a view. \- Lots of windows and high ceilings with "sky lights" to get as much natural light in as possible since I'm going to want to have plenty of indoor plants too lol. \- Failing a rooftop garden - solar panels up there at least. I want to have my house and garden always lit up with decorative lighting and also constantly kept at the right temperature without feeling guilty about how much energy it's consuming. Plus long term this would save me money too and I think solar panels in the right climate (like mine) should be considered the standard in home design these days. \- A nice view of, well - anything really. Ocean, city, harbour, hills, forest or even the desert - just *something* more interesting and distant to look out at from the most frequently occupied side of the house other than the damn neighbour's houses or across the road's cars. A good view never gets old. \- A fireplace or at least heated floors. It may not get very cold where I am but I feel it to the point my hands and feet turn to ice every winter anyway. Other add-ons if I really had a lot of money to blow include: \- One of those turntables for my car in the garage so I can always have it facing the right way out when I want to leave without having to reverse park it every time I come back. \- A long driveway lined with palm trees so I can feel like I'm entering some ritzy Beverly Hills type estate every time I come home. Plus I just freaki'n love palm trees, they remind me of fun, sunny, happy locations. If I have room for this then I probably have room to U-turn in the driveway and enter the garage from behind when I get to the house, thus eliminating the need for the turntable thing. \- A pool would be nice and might make it easier to have my place be chosen as the hub for family get-togethers. \- Walk-in wardrobe with mirrored walls and decent lighting so I can model my outfits, and also a way to put my favourite clothes and accessories on display when I'm not using 'em since to me high-end fashion is an art form I wish I could indulge in more regularly (and would if I won the lottery). \- Either a giant fish tank or a huge floor to ceiling lava lamp simply because it looks cool and gives off a calming glow at night.
