+17 Quitting your job question:

A lot of people seem to be split on whether they will quit their job if they win big. I am one of the quit the job people, but since a lot of my job is work from home or travel work, I wouldn't let anyone know I quit, at least for a good long while. How about you?

+29 @MrParisShoes I would quit immediately. There is no honor in work, that’s just a lie fed to us by the capitalists.

+18 @DeadeyeDuncan I wouldn't even quit. I just would stop turning up or logging on.

+17 @akmjolnir I'd ask for a raise.

+11 @Glock1911 I'd keep working to keep up appearances before revealing I had won. I would need some time to take care of a few things before I pulled a Houdini. I'd get a lawyer, get a few things sorted out, establish some sort of asset protection plan. I'd also get a new phone number, get new credit/bank cards, and book a trip out of the country starting the day after I claimed my winnings. Where we live winners - especially of major prizes - are required to have their names published. It's supposedly to stop "insider" wins from convenience store clerks cheating customers out of their winning tickets. I'd definitely keep up appearances by keeping my job until I claimed my win.

+11 @LaseMe The people that say that are LYING. you’re not working for a company that you’re worth more than

+10 @cornered42 I would keep the job temporarily and tell no one.
