If I were Filthy Rich
By shinyshenron+53 If I won the lottery I'd probably have to move
I live in a third world country but have been tempted to buy US lottery tickets online. If I ever did and actually became a multi-millionaire I'd have to keep it quiet.
Its the kind of place that nobody is surprised when rich people's relatives get kidnapped and held for ransom. So for everybody's sake I wouldn't tell a soul and would spend most of my time in the US dealing with lawyers and accountants to set everything up.
Once it did, I'd tell my family and close friends I made some good money through lucky breaks in crypto and the stock market. Enough to live an easy life but nothing crazy and I'd provide with as much health as I can without making it obvious I'm fucking loaded. I'd enjoyed my final months, maybe year in my home country but would eventually move on around.
For all the issues my country has, I do love my little town and would like to stick around and enjoy my riches in my hometown but moving would be the smartest thing. I live in Latin America so I'd go to the US or Canada just to stay close.

+42 @TheWhompingPillow I honestly had no idea non-Americans could buy US lottery tickets. Huh.
+11 @SirFusterCluck I live in a nice part of California and wouldn’t tell a soul. I’d create a trust and have the trust accept the ticket represented by a lawyer. I’d take care of my family in the way you said but I’d keep the win to myself. People wouldn’t respect lottery winnings and it would cause nothing but trouble.
