If I were Filthy Rich
By InqueVII+65 At what point should a winner consider physical security?
As above, what money amount is high enough that a person should start to consider getting body guards/home security in a state that doesn’t allow you to collect anonymously?

+77 @breadad1969 Don’t run around telling you win and you’ll be fine. Don’t continue living in your house. Move to another, probably much nicer, neighborhood. I know a couple people worth >$100 million and one billionaire, they don’t use security in 95% of situations. Going to huge public events like the Super Bowl, they do have a guy but that’s more to help them get in and out without getting stuck in a crowd. Regular but good home security.
+39 @marvelguy1975 Move to a nicer neighborhood, go unlisted things like that and you will be fine. Your biggest concern is scamers coming after you cause they know you dont know how to manage your money.
+34 @HistoricalRisk7299 Best security is to tell no one about the win! Baring that keep your lifestyle low key.
+30 @GreatPhase7351 Had a relative that had her grandpa killed and almost got her grandmother too…all because they won a $1 million lottery (1980s) and she was the only one in the will. So you never know…
+17 @Beginning_Lifeguard7 I think it depends on your lifestyle. Are you going out in public, throwing money around and attracting attention to yourself? You’ll need a couple of shaved gorillas to keep the riff raff away. Or are you living a quiet life in a nice neighborhood? (True story. I live in a nice area. There are lots of people driving expensive cars , having lots of expensive toys, and living in nice homes. It’s so commonplace that no one even notices the new boat, car, whatever. I have no idea if they’re lottery winning rich or in debt up to their eyeballs. There’s anonymity in numbers. Now if one of these neighbors moved into the neighborhood I grew up in, they’d stick out like a Bentley at a trailer park. )
+12 @nitrofan111 I’ve worked for multiple billionaires and none of them had private security. Because they’re quiet. As soon as you’re loud, you need protection.
