If I were Filthy Rich
By Beginning_Lifeguard7+195 You’ve just won life changing money. How do you not tell anyone?
Suddenly you don’t have to go to that soul sucking job. You can buy any house and car you want. The internet says tell no one about your winning. So what do you tell those closest to you about your lack of a job and new house and car?

+148 @chopper5150 Just tell everyone you're killing it on OF.
+99 @big_loadz How to not tell anyone... In the time that it takes to verify the win, setup accounts to take in the money, and wait for the money to eventually arrive, and that all should take at least a month, just keep telling yourself that many people have been killed or had their lives ruined when someone they deeply trusted found out about the sudden windfall. Seeing that telling people about this is **literally a matter of life or death**, I'd make the safer choice.
+44 @montanasucks Just don't tell anyone? I hate talking to people so this is an easy win.
+42 @KennyLagerins Made a couple really risky investments that paid off (it’s actually even true if you think about it hard enough). Then just say you work from home.
+36 @TheLizardKing89 No anonymity in my state. I’m telling people because they’re going to find out anyway.
+32 @LPNTed I think you're confusing the fact that everybody tells you to tell no one up front. Of course you don't want to broadcast it nationwide once you clear your legal hurdles.. but I don't think it's reasonable to expect anyone to not eventually tell their loved ones what's up.
+32 @Hungry-Number6183 “I got a new job as a house manager for a wealthy family that spends the majority of the year in Europe. I’ve signed an nda that states that’s all I can say”
+19 @coolio19887 Every time you think of telling someone, stick a needle in your thumb
+16 @citizensnips134 Step 1: don’t tell anyone.
+15 @PirateKilt "Hey everyone, I won a dang month long cruise in this stupid lottery raffle thing I bought a while back... I'm quitting and taking a month off to freaking enjoy this... I'll figure out a new job when I get back... I'll post pics to Face-t-gram when I can but internet is always sketchy on those ships... leave me an email if you know of any job openings that start in a month or two!"
+13 @coolio19887 So obviously everyone knows you have money (they see the house and cars), but you just don’t want them to know the source? Just come up with a good back story. But it’s got to be plausible. That story cannot be inconsistent with your history. Or maybe you have to start your subtle back story well before you ever win a jackpot?? The other strategy is to tell people you won the lottery so many times as a lie that they’ll never believe you when it’s true😂
+13 @Amberdeluxe Tell those who need to know. For the rest, let them wonder. Why explain? Any explanation that’s plausible for no job and flashy spending (lawsuit, early bitcoin purchase, stock options on unicorn, inheritance from distant relative, Nigerian Prince was legit etc.) confirms you’re suddenly rich, which is what people are saying you don’t want to let anyone know. Let them wonder if you’re living above your means on credit or actually got rich.
+12 @parabox1 I buy a profitable small business I know I can manage and keep going. I tell the owner they need to work at the business for 2 years paid to train me in. I play undercover boss for 2 years then take over as acting manager. Promoting a deserving and skilled employee to my old job. After 3 more years I announce that employee will be running the day to day and I will be heading up research and development remotely. Even if it was a profitable poop removal service 5 years left until retirement. People would assume I fell upwards.
+11 @tricky_cat_mah I’m just going to say I got laid off or that I’ve decided to do some soul searching.
