Let’s say you win the all 5 numbers without the powerball, that is $1mil take home for TX after taxes is $386k and change (so the online calculators say). Would you hire a professional such as a lawyer or accountant? Or would you need to win more before you spend money on that?

+19 @gvillager I'd just get a CPA to do my taxes. Edit: the $1 million powerball win for matching 5 numbers is the cash value. So you'd get about $630k after taxes in Texas.
+11 @zamboniman46 for $1M i wouldnt get a lawyer. try and engage a CPA before year-end. as long as you dont get into alternative partnership investments your taxes wont be overly complicated and you can probably have it done for $5k or less
