If I were Filthy Rich
By Entire_Toe2640+66 If You Win the Lottery, You Should Never Tell Anyone
I know it will be hard, but Shut Up! Telling 1 person means your life is over. Tell no one. There are ways to stay anonymous. Use them.

+41 @ChestertonsFence1929 I used to believe that myself but I’ve changed my mind. When you win life-changing money you move to a different neighborhood, quit your job, and lose contact with friends who can’t afford the same lifestyle. If you don’t include some relatives or close friends who you can share with what you’re going through then you’re quickly going to be very alone and isolated.
+33 @BAC2Think I told my wife if we won the lottery we aren't telling anyone until we talk to a lawyer first and get some stuff prepped with them. Not my parents, not her parents, not any of our siblings, not a soul. There will be plenty of time to sort out how much to float the family after we get things established

+22 @Responsible_Wrap7871 I never got this. If you never want to talk to your family or have bad relationship with them, this advice is great. My plan is to have everything planned out with a trust & estate attorneys before telling anyone. I would have safeguards/advice from professionals for both my family and I (real estate, consulting, bankruptcy, financial planning, budgeting, etc) I would set 20% of after tax winnings for both immediate and extended family. Everything would go through the trust & estate team and I would not discuss money with family.
+15 @Daegog Not only that prepare to move away from where you live quickly. If someone finds out and the cats out the bag, PRESUME your life is immediately in danger and get security to guard your move. The old saying is not entirely wrong, for 3 people to keep a secret, 2 must die.
